Reformadora social estadounidense y abogada de los derechos femeninos. Asistió a un internado cuáquero cerca de Poughkeepsie, N.Y., donde más tarde enseñó. En 1811 se casó con un colega, James Mott, y en 1821 se convirtió oficialmente en ministra de los cuáqueros. Los esposos Mott participaron activamente en la campaña contra la esclavitud y Lucretia dio numerosas conferencias sobre reforma social. En 1848, junto con Elizabeth Cady Stanton, organizó la convención de Seneca Falls y después se dedicó principalmente a los derechos femeninos, escribió artículos y siguió dando conferencias. Después de la guerra de Secesión, también trabajó por el derecho a sufragio de los esclavos libertos. See also abolicionismo; sufragio femenino.
